About me

My name is Marie Levillain. I am a professional photographer, drone pilot, and content creator based in France.
I have two big passions: travel and photography. I was fortunate to grow up immersed in both worlds thanks to my parents, who are also travelers, with my mother always ready for an adventure, and my father, a photographer and professional spelunker. Funny enough, I was never particularly drawn to photography, but I started traveling at a very young age, filling my life with incredible adventures and breathtaking landscapes.
My journey in photography began in 2019 by a pure chance, while I was working as a sommelier on a luxury French yacht in the Seychelles. I had bought a small drone before boarding, just to “bring back cool photos for my family” and capture the stunning islands I was lucky enough to explore during those four months of cruising. I discovered the potential of aerial photography at that time, thanks to this little metal bird that opened the doors to a unique visual world in one of the most beautiful paradises that exist in our planet.
After being disembarked due to Covid, the year 2020 brought unexpected changes with the global lockdown. During this forced “retreat”, I nurtured an idea that had been growing while on the yacht : investing in a camera. In June 2020, I took the plunge and began capturing my native Oriental-Pyrenees, my home region during lockdown. It’s a stunning area nested between mountains, Spain and the Mediterranean Sea in the south of France and rediscovering through photography was a bowl of fresh air during the lockdown. Since then, I’ve continued to freeze in time my vision of the world’s beauty, its nature, its landscapes, and the travels I am lucky to experience.
My vision
Photography became much more than just a passion for me, it’s a way to capture the magic of every moment and share my personal vision of reality. It allows me to tell stories, document the past, celebrate the present, and anticipate the future.
Picking up a camera invites you to see the world from a new perspective, to explore light, composition, colors, and textures. Every image is the result of a search for beauty, harmony, and emotion, and I constantly strive to refine my skills to express my vision of the world as authentically as possible.
As I’ve traveled to many corners of the globe, I’ve developed a deep love for remote, lesser-known, and hard-to-reach places. I’m particularly drawn to epic and forgotten places, the ones who allow you to capture their raw beauty in silence and almost always alone. I like to avoid overcrowded, overexposed locations commonly seen on social media, focusing instead on hidden gems waiting to be discovered.
Beyond the purely aesthetic pursuit, I am most inspired by the breathtaking landscapes our planet has to offer. My mission is to share the magic of the Earth and invite you to experience the world’s beauty as I see it.
